The Bob Burns Jumbo Wood is designed with tradition and technology in mind. It features a deeper face and larger profile increasing the effective hitting area (sweet spot) by 35%. These woods feature our newest lightweight fifty-five gram graphite shafts, to maximize clubhead speed at impact. The most important characteristic of this Jumbo Wood versus other oversize woods is the increased face radius that greatly influences the gear-effect. This face bulge serves as a type of corrective factor on off center hits. In effect it helps steer shots hit either on the heel or toe back toward the center of the fairway. In addition to being a great playable club, Bob Burns woods have superior feel when striking the ball. This is the result of state-of-the-art oil hardening. This scientific process of stabilizing the wood ensures uniformity in weight and prevents splitting and chipping. Playability is further enhanced with the "Intensifier" which is a phenolic weight plug embedded into the toe of the club to help square the face at impact. This feature, complemented with a phenolic fiber face insert will maximize feel at impact more than any other wood head ever made.
